Who We Are
As a greater competitive force in today's marketplace, Morgan Building Constructors is the transition from Daniel Morgan Construction, Inc. beginning January 1. 2013. DMC originally grew from a small family business founded in 1966, and incorporated in 1980 as Daniel A Morgan Concrete, Inc. and then Daniel Morgan Construction, Inc. incorporated in 2002. The transition to Morgan Building Constructors is to reflect the diversity of our growing scope of construction work. The company name change was important to reflect more than concrete, as we also complete masonry, brick, pre-cast stone veneer, framing, painting, general labor, and demolition work. We have extensive experience in residential and commercial with a great reputation for outstanding management, completing on time, and doing the work correctly.
In the past, we completed an average of over 1,000 single-family units each year for some of the most prominent builders and home developers in the Central Florida area, including Toll Brothers, Engle Homes/Orlando, Morrison Homes, US Homes, and Transeastern Homes.
While our concrete and masonry residential work was over 90% of our total operations (1997-2007), we also self performed wood framing or 'shell' construction, other carpentry repairs, painting, and small demolition. We utilize our Residential Contractors License for pulling residential permits, if required, and can subcontract any plumbing, electrical, roofing, or mechanical work to licensed subcontractors under our direction.
Our ability to diversify our services enabled us to keep pace with the dramatic reduction in new homes being built in the Central Florida market. A 3 year +/- supply of homes is currently available so we expect minimal residential construction in the near future. This encouraged us to pursue small commercial projects to increase diversification.
We are members of the Concrete Homes Council, Safety Partnership (PIP), Central Florida Builders Exchange and other local associations. We participate and donate each year to support Habitat for Humanity projects; Coastal Conservation Assn.; Coalition for Property Rights, The Johnny Damon Foundation and always welcome opportunities to give back to our community.
Dan Morgan and our management team are continually evaluating alternative building methods and materials, management software, and computer technology to maintain our edge in the market. All of our management and employees strive for excellent relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to preserve Morgan Building Constructors' longevity and position as one of the largest concrete and masonry contractors in Central Florida.
Our Operations
We operate with an office team of four seasoned employees; Johnny Key, our VP of Construction; Derek Key, Senior Project Manager and Estimator/Supervisor; Kimberly Ferro, Senior Bookkeeper and Daniel A Morgan, the President of the company. We currently have field staff made up of numerous superintendents, and quality control positions, concrete crews, masonry crews and general labor/self-performing crews. We also have a qualified vendor list of subcontractors who we have worked directly with for many years.
